The wide range, maturity and uniqueness of Alana’s creative work no doubt comes from the vastness of her life travels, the myriad of exotic experiences these have brought to her and the resulting international depth all of it gave to her artistic expanse. Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and thereafter, from early adulthood, traveling, living and studying all over the Americas and throughout Europe, becoming multicultural, multilingual and multi-disciplined by deep study virtually inside each creative environment, she is truly a “universalist” in her approach, kaleidoscopic in her learning and, now, masterful in integrating all of it into her work for her clients. Unlike all of the other designers who have merely been schooled in courses of design and looked at pictures in textbooks, Alana has not been just professionally schooled, though she has professionally schooled, extensively.

Unlike the others, Alana has actually been in that far-off venue, been part of the culture, seen that style, that feature or that artifact, touched it. All first hand, for which there is no equal. Moreover, she is often a teacher as well as a student. She has designed and lead numerous programs at the top of her profession, such as the acclaimed Modern Design Analyses courses she co-instructed with Dr. J. Eckley at the 2008 and 2010 annual conventions of the prestigious American Society of Interior Designers.
